Do I need a wallet or crypto to play?

No. Press Play now and a guest character is made for you in this browser. No sign up, no email and no wallet.

A wallet is only needed to trade a town's coin or to found a town.

Is Mintlands free?

Playing is free: moving, gathering, fighting, quests, fast travel and chat cost nothing.

A trade costs the SOL you trade plus the fees each quote shows: the protocol fee to pump.fun, the creator fee to the town's split, and Solana's network fee.

Founding a town costs about 0.021 SOL in network fees and rent, plus any first buy you choose.

What should I do first?

Follow the Getting started checklist under your portrait: take a walk, look around, gather a resource, open your map, head north to The Crossroads, then visit a town and take a quest from its notice board.

Press H in the game at any time to open this guide.

Is my character saved?

Yes, on the server. A guest character is tied to this browser, so clearing your site data or switching browser starts a new guest account.

Link a wallet if you want to get your characters back on another browser or device: connecting the same wallet signs you back in.

How many characters can I have?

Up to 3 per account. Names and looks cannot be changed later, so take a moment when you make one.

Can I play on a phone?

Mintlands plays best with a keyboard and mouse. On a phone or tablet you can tap to walk, talk and gather, but you cannot turn the camera.

Every page of the website works on phones.

Where do I find quests?

On town notice boards: walk up and press E. You can carry up to 5 quests at a time, and each one is turned in at the board where you took it.

The board in The Crossroads only has news, and ruins have no quests.

What happens if I am defeated?

Nothing is lost: you keep your items, gold and XP. After a few seconds you can respawn with full health in the nearest town or at The Crossroads.

What is gold for?

Gold is the game's currency, from bandits, quests and raids. It is never a token, is not on chain and cannot be withdrawn.

There is nothing to buy with it yet.

What do I do with what I gather?

Deliver it to a town storehouse to help build the town's next project, or carry it for a delivery quest.

Items cannot be sold or given to other players yet.

How do I get to The Crossroads?

Walk north from Wayfarer's Hill, where new characters start. Signposts point the way.

You can also fast travel there from the world map (M) at any time, except during combat.

Is every town really a coin?

Yes. Every town is a real Solana coin, created on pump.fun by the player who founded it.

Each town page shows the coin's mint address and links to a public explorer.

How does a town grow?

Its Town Score, built from nine real inputs, sets its level from Camp to Kingdom. Market cap is not one of them.

Visiting, quests and deliveries all count. Quiet towns decline and can fall into ruin, and ruins can be rebuilt when activity returns.

What does founding a town cost?

about 0.021 SOL in network fees and rent, plus any first buy you choose. Mintlands charges no founding fee of its own.

Your wallet shows each transaction before you sign, and the exact amounts are shown first.

Where do trading fees go?

The protocol fee goes to pump.fun. The creator fee goes to the coin's creator-fee split: the founder, the town treasury and the Mintlands world treasury (10%). If the founder did not sign the split, all of it goes to the founder.

Mintlands adds no trading fee of its own. Every fee is shown in SOL on the quote before you sign.

What is a citizen?

In town stats, every wallet holding the coin counts as a citizen.

In the game, a player whose linked wallet holds at least $1 of the coin can become a citizen: a citizen title and the town chat wherever you are.

It is cosmetic and social only, not an investment.

Does playing earn me tokens or money?

No. XP, gold and items stay in the game. Nothing in the game pays out tokens or SOL.

Is it safe to connect my wallet?

Connecting signs a free sign-in message: it sends no transaction and costs nothing. Your wallet shows every trade or founding before you approve it.

Mintlands never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who asks is trying to steal from you.

Is this financial advice?

No. Nothing in Mintlands is advice to buy or sell. Tokens are risky and can lose all their value.

A town's size reflects activity, not value or future returns.
